Alhambra™ Hardware Company Inc., was established February 1, 2003, to manage the design, manufacturing, warehousing, marketing and sales of Curtains Up® designer range of distinctive drapery hardware and other custom decorative drapery hardware lines. Alhambra™ is a sister company to Steptoe & Wife Antiques Ltd. Steptoe has been a fixture in the Toronto design community since 1972 when it imported and sold English antiques. Steptoe introduced decorative drapery hardware into the business in 1992 and since that time it has experienced exponential growth across North America. The creation of Alhambra™ comes as a result of the continued success of Curtains Up® and the growth of the company's contract manufacturing operations for drapery hardware components. Alhambra™ Hardware Company Inc. operates from the Alhambra™ & Steptoe corporate headquarters, a 40,000 sq. ft. facility at 90 Tycos Drive, in the Design & Décor District of Toronto. (Tycos runs west off of Dufferin Street and is six blocks south of Lawrence Avenue West and seven blocks north of Eglinton Avenue West.) Please see map 1, and map 2.
